I remember a lot of things about September 11, 2001.  I remember getting up and getting ready for work...and how much I didn't want to go to work, because my husband was home on leave from a one year tour in Okinawa, Japan.  I remember that he had to take me to work so he could have my car to go pick my daughter up.  I remember thinking of the million and one things we had to get done before we left the next day to go to New York for my sister-in-law's wedding.

I also remember exactly where I was standing when the DJ on the radio announced that a plane had flown into the World Trade Center.  I remember one of my co-workers and I looking at each other, then at the radio, then back at each other in disbelief.  I remember our horror at hearing the announcements that another plane had crashed into the other tower of the World Trade Center, and then another into the Pentagon, and yet another into a field in Pennsylvania.  I remember my boss's wife trying to get in touch with family members that lived in New York City, and how worried she was when she couldn't get through.  I remember that I ended up going home early that day, because we had no customers.

Then I remember wondering.  Wondering how people could hate so much that they'd be willing to die to kill others.  Wondering why terrorists talk like they're so big and brave, when in reality they're just cowards who would rather die than face the consequences of their actions.  Wondering why more people couldn't have been spared.

This may all just seem like rambling, but I want to make sure that I will never forget.  I want to try to remember as much as possible about that day, because if we ever forget, then the terrorists have won.
